Why do so many places have these two words paired together on their menu board filled with a thousand items. As if the number of items on the menu arent enough to confuse you, people choose to use redundant words.As someone who understands the Hindi language, I just don't get it when I see 'Chai Tea'. What is this? We talk about appropriately customizing products to new lands, but it hasnt translated to coffee/tea shops.
Chai = Tea
Tea = Tea
So, if you are a rational person you'd know what I am getting at.
'I'd a cup of Tea Tea please!'
Redundant Redundant Redundant. It just feels stupid to be repeat the word just because it is being said in a different language. Which other dish has something like this?
Spicy Chicken Pollo
Basil Fish Macchi
Unagi Eeel with avacado and spicy sauce roll
You get the point. Chai Tea needs to go. Let it just be a 'Cuppa chai'. Who's with me??
